examination results 2011

Robert Clack pupils achieved the best ever set of results in the school’s history.

61% of pupils passed 5 or more GCSEs at grades A*-C including English and Maths.  This is an increase of 3 percentage points compared to last year and an increase of 21 percentage points since 2008.

The proportion of pupils achieving 5 or more GCSEs at grades A*-C not including English and Maths was 81%, maintaining the high pass rate of the past few years.   It was also very pleasing that every pupil in Year 11 achieved at least 5 or more A*-G grades – this is the first time that an entire Year 11 cohort has done so.

The A level pass rate at Robert Clack School increased to 99.5% - the highest in the school's history.  The A*-C pass rate also increased significantly on previous years, rising to 70%.

As well as success across the board, there were a number of outstanding individual results.

At GCSE a significant  proportion of pupils achieved outstanding results, gaining a string of A* and A grades.  The highest achievers were Makoto Saito (11A*), John Hattam (10A*), Azaan Akbar (11A*, 1A), Sam Martin (10A*, 3A), Lewis Howlett (9A*, 4A) and Lee Tobin (7A*, 7A).

At A level Enrik Nako achieved 3A*s (in Maths, Further Maths and Physics) and 1A (in Chemistry) and is going to Warwick to study Physics; Carlos Chilima achieved 3A*s (in Chemistry, Portuguese and Maths) and 1A (in Biology) and is going to Queen Mary to study Medicine; Tunde Sowande achieved 2As (in History and Politics) and 1B (in English Literature) and has been accepted at OXFORD to read History; Zeeshan Arshed achieved 2As (in Economics and Maths) and 1B (in Physics) and is going to Queen Mary to study Economics.

We are very proud of all of our students; their hard work and determination has been highly rewarded.

We are also incredibly grateful to an outstanding group of staff who always go above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that our students receive the very best education.

We wish all of our students the very best of luck as they embark on the next stage of their lives.

"Learner's spiritual, moral and social development is very good. Their characters and personalities develop well in school and their confidence and determination are often very striking. Nevertheless, they remain sensitive and aware and many are becoming politically astute." OfSTED- HMI June 2004
