The Christmas Senior Citizen
Event
Wednesday 15th December 2010
Over 100 Senior Citizen’s from the Borough joined staff and pupils from Robert Clack School for this year’s Christmas event.
We were very pleased to welcome some old friends as well as many new faces. For some guests is was their 19th year.
The evening was supported by many staff who contributed by organising dance and musical showpieces. Mrs Churchill compared the evening and her father organised a quiz focusing on the history of Dagenham.
All guests were provided with a hamper at the end of the evening. It was down to the amazing generosity of our pupils and their families that over 175 hampers were donated.
Our sixth form students hosted the event and did an exceptional job. They welcomed the guests and made sure that they had a very enjoyable evening.
We organised bingo games and as usual these proved to be very popular with our guests.
Since the evening we have received many letters into school thanking us for providing such a wonderful evening.
It would not be possible to organise such an event without the support of the whole school community. We have had requests for invites for next year already and we will be certainly organising the event again.
OAP Christmas Event 2009
A huge thank you to all the parents, carers and pupils who made such magnificent contributions to the Christmas hampers this year. We were able to provide 134 hampers through the excellent generosity of our school community.
The Sixth Formers hosted the evening on Wednesday 9 December and we had over 120 visitors on the evening. We invite local senior citizens and carers to come along on the evening. One of the visitors was 92 years old and said that she thoroughly enjoys coming along to the school every year and is looking forward to next year already. The spare hampers were given to a local charity group for distribution.
Lots of people contributed to the entertainment on the evening including the girls’ choirs and individual performances. Thanks to the music department for their work on the evening.
The sixth formers organised Bingo games for the guests and this was a popular activity.
All of our guests had a really wonderful time and enjoyed the company of the pupils and sixth form students.
.
Thank you so much again for your contribution to the evening, it really was appreciated by the guests.
Have a very Happy Christmas

This is an outstanding school. Students enter the school with standards that are broadly average; they make outstanding progress to achieve substantially higher than average results in national examinations in Year 9 and at GCSE. The school strives and is ambitious for students' success. Results in Year 9 and GCSE have continued to improve year by year. Students achieve outstandingly because teaching, learning and the curriculum are of a consistently high standard.
