year 10

We are very proud of the positive and mature transition Year 10 have made this year. Throughout the year they will do controlled assessments, BTEC assignments, coursework and sit modular GCSE exams. Pupils are reminded that hard work and dedication, both in school and at home, is key to achieving their great potential.

As a team we aim to support the growth of your child by providing the best possible learning environment and tackling any barriers to learning. It is essential that they communicate any concerns with their teachers to gain the advice needed to progress.

It is a pleasure to be able to lead this year group once again and I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Year 10 on their many successes last year. We are confident that they will continue to strive to excel and beat records in the classroom, in sport and performing arts.

Thank you,

Laura

Care, guidance and support are outstanding. Students are positive about the effective pastoral system that contributes to the 'family-like' community in the school. Students feel safe in school, supported by the high levels of supervision throughout the day. There are outstanding links with local authority and other external agencies so that vulnerable students including looked after children are well cared for. Careers advice and support are excellent and ensure that students are well informed about the options available to them for the next stage of education and working life. Systematic whole-school procedures rigorously check on students' academic progress. Day-to-day guidance to students on how to improve their performance is very effective.
