Pastoral Care - Year 12

YEAR 12

Year 12 are proving to be an academically excellent and hard working year group. There have been a variety of successes already, and many things for us as a school to be proud of. This year 12 boast the first ever independently run sixth form council, and this group of students have already made an impact with regard to improvements to sixth form.

Throughout the January exam period, year 12 have worked tremendously, attending revision sessions, studying privately in the Information Centre and Study room and conducting themselves impeccably during exam time.

Year reports are due out very soon and I’m sure the vast majority of students in year 12 will be reading about how impressed staff have been with their progress. We expect that the same amount of success will be evident in the summer exams.

KEY DATES: Wednesday 11th March, Higher Education Evening at Robert Clack School. An excellent opportunity to speak to Universities about progress after sixth form.

Care, guidance and support are outstanding. Students are positive about the effective pastoral system that contributes to the 'family-like' community in the school. Students feel safe in school, supported by the high levels of supervision throughout the day. There are outstanding links with local authority and other external agencies so that vulnerable students including looked after children are well cared for. Careers advice and support are excellent and ensure that students are well informed about the options available to them for the next stage of education and working life. Systematic whole-school procedures rigorously check on students' academic progress. Day-to-day guidance to students on how to improve their performance is very effective.
