sporting success
This half term two boys in year 10 reached new heights in their selected sports in tremendous fashion.
Danny Irving and Nassime Vernege-Fanus won individual titles in Judo and Tang Soo Do respectively.
Danny won gold at the British Judo championships and
Nassime took the same at the European Tang Soo Do championships in Amsterdam.
Their achievements reflect the huge amount of dedication and time that both boys put into their sports and we in the PE department are delighted for both pupils.
Both Danny and Nassime are polite, likeable, hard working young men and great ambassadors for the school and the local community. Both boys have been nominated for the prestigious Barking and Dagenham elite performer of the year award.

robert clack awarded
model library status
Robert Clack School is delighted that their Library has joined an elite group of school libraries that have achieved the honour of being awarded “Model Library” status by Renaissance Learning.
This award recognise the school’s commitment to raising reading standards significantly, based on measurable results.
Robert Clack is a keen supporter of Renaissance Learning’s acclaimed Accelerated Reader Advantage program. The school has seen marked progression in reading and comprehension standards since the program was initiated in 2008.
In particular the commitment from School Librarian Ellen Monk has been key to the successful implementation of the programme, as she has helped provide an environment that encourages reading for pleasure. As well as the school receiving model Library status Ellen has been awarded a certificate for her outstanding work in implementing the programme so successfully into the school.
The aim of the Accelerated Reader programme is to help pupils achieve their full literacy potential by combining key elements of baseline assessment and personalised reading practice. It promotes reading for pleasure and encourages pupils to use reading to learn. It motivates pupils of all ages and abilities not only to read more, but also to read more appropriate books. It is designed to raise literacy standards, fostering a lifelong love of reading.

This is an outstanding school. Students enter the school with standards that are broadly average; they make outstanding progress to achieve substantially higher than average results in national examinations in Year 9 and at GCSE. The school strives and is ambitious for students' success. Results in Year 9 and GCSE have continued to improve year by year. Students achieve outstandingly because teaching, learning and the curriculum are of a consistently high standard.
