Supporting your Mental Health

During these particularly unusual circumstances, it is more important than ever to consider your mental well being.

These sites can offer some useful support - Kooth, Bigwhitewall and Childline

Please have a read of these summer self care activities and start to think about how you will look after yourself.

This booklet is a great resource for supporting students who have any worries about Covid-19.

School Counselling Services

At Robert Clack we have our own full time counselling service. We have a team of counsellors available who hold sessions on all school sites. We have three qualified therapists and trainee counsellors. Our qualified therapists see students who require the skills and knowledge that comes with experience. Our trainee counsellors see students whose need is not so great but would still like to talk to someone in a confidential space.

Students can be referred to the counselling service by any member of the Pastoral team. Alternatively, they can refer themselves by speaking to a member of staff who can then pass on their request.

Counselling is held in a safe, private room. The sessions are confidential. Information is only ever shared if there is a safeguarding concern. The School counsellor follows school protection procedures, and works closely with the school to ensure all safeguarding procedures are responded to effectively. Whenever information is required to be shared, the young person is always informed.

All our Counsellors are members of either the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) or the NCS (National Counselling Society) and adhere to their ethical framework.

Where necessary, young people can be referred on to CAMHS if we feel their threshold criteria will be met.

Mental Health Support Team

We are also supported by the NHS Mental Health Support Team. The poster below outlines what they offer.
