Ricky Powell – Class of 2007

Ricky left Robert Clack in 2007 and is now a Barrister. He came back to school on Wednesday 8th December to speak to Year 9 students in their Assembly about choosing their Options and Careers in Law. Ricky spoke a little about himself and his time at school, which Options he chose and also his A Levels. He explained the difference between a Lawyer and a Barrister and also discussed other roles in the legal profession such as legal assistants and conveyancers. Ricky also advised the students to think about which Options would be best suited to a legal career such as History, Sociology, Psychology, Drama (for public speaking), Business Studies and ICT.
Obviously as a Barrister Ricky has a wig and gown which he brought along and allowed 2 students to try on which they were delighted to do!
Lots of ex-pupils commented on how an assembly or visit made them think about their career choices so these visits are so valuable. Thanks to all of our visitors for giving up their time.
