On Thursday 3rd February, several students who receive support from the West Ham mentoring program were rewarded with an outing to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, where they represented the school in a friendly 5 aside tournament between Robert Clack and Bobby Moore Academy School; during the competition several students stood out in terms of behavior and sportsmanship, however overall, the group showed themself in a good respect and did the school proud.
After the tournament, the students were treated to a tour of the London Stadium, where they learned about the history of West Ham United, the clubs successes, and goals as well as the transformation of the facility from being an Olympic stadium into a Premier League stadium. The students gained an idea of several career opportunities around football, sport and facility management that they might not have considered also. The students showed courteous conduct and made a great impression on the West Ham staff they encountered, being a pleasure and credit to themselves and the school.
