Last week on Friday, a handful of the students I mentor had the chance to speak to a number of West Ham players and ask them questions on the topic of education and how engaging with this benefitted them, as well as which transferrable skills can be gained and developed in school and used in the real world once they get the opportunity.
The players spoke briefly about their experiences in school and answered questions linked to how they overcome challenges and failure, advice for students struggling in school and how to handle pressure and stress. The students also got to ask questions about personal things like their inspirations, favourite subjects at school and what advice would they go back and give their 13-year-old self if given the opportunity.
The players involved on the call were Tomáš Souček and Vladimír Coufal, both from the Czech Republic.
