Subject leader:  Mr J Hamill

Through our multi-dimensional Personal, Social and Health and Economic education PSHE Programme we aim for our students to develop the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to keep themselves healthy, safe and prepared for life inside and outside of school.

At Robert Clack, PSHE is underpinned by the school ethos and is being delivered through Form Time activities and Assemblies, drop down PSHE days, cross-curricular links with Science and RE and other citizenship events so at to develop to well-rounded individuals and lead successful lives after they complete their secondary Education.

PSHE is not only significant to ensuring that students are developing to well-rounded individuals but also according to the PSHE Association website (add link  https://pshe-association.org.uk/what-is-pshe-education) the subject’s importance to children and young people’s wellbeing and knock-on effects on academic achievement, stating that:

The evidence shows that personal, social, health and economic (PSHE) education can improve the physical and psychosocial well-being of pupils. A virtuous cycle can be achieved, whereby pupils with better health and well-being can achieve better academically, which in turn leads to greater success’
