PSHE
Subject Director: Mrs C Doyle Jeffery
Through our multi-dimensional Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) Education programme, we aim for our students to develop the knowledge, skills, and attributes they need to keep themselves healthy, safe, and prepared for life inside and outside of school.
At Robert Clack, PSHE is underpinned by the school ethos and is delivered through Form Time activities and assemblies, drop-down PSHE days, cross-curricular links with Science and RE, and other citizenship events. These aim to develop well-rounded individuals who can lead successful lives after completing their secondary education.
PSHE is not only significant to ensuring that students are developing into well-rounded individuals but also according to the PSHE Association website the subject’s importance to children and young people’s wellbeing and knock-on effects on academic achievement, stating that:
‘The evidence shows that personal, social, health and economic (PSHE) education can improve the physical and psychosocial well-being of pupils. A virtuous cycle can be achieved, whereby pupils with better health and well-being can achieve better academically, which in turn leads to greater success’.
