Year 8
Gosfield Road
Miss Yasin (Head of Year)
It is a privilege to lead this exceptional group of students as they continue their journey at Robert Clack School. Having successfully completed their first year of secondary school, our Year 8 students are now entering an important stage where they can build on the foundations they have laid and take greater responsibility for their learning and personal development.
Our aim remains to provide an outstanding holistic education that equips the young people of the Robert Clack School community with the knowledge, skills, and values they need to reach their full potential and make a positive difference in society. This year, we will continue to recognise and celebrate their achievements—whether in academics, extracurricular activities, sports, or creative pursuits—through assemblies and school events.
We encourage our students to be BRAVE:
Behave – consistently meet the school’s high standards and set a positive example to others
Responsible – come prepared for learning every day, complete homework, and take ownership of their choices
Attitude – approach challenges with resilience and maintain a positive outlook towards learning
Virtuous – act with honesty, integrity, and kindness, contributing to a respectful school community
Effort – always strive to do their very best in every aspect of school life
I am excited to support this year group as they continue to grow, take on new opportunities, and shape their future. I would also like to thank parents and guardians for their continued support, which remains vital in helping our students achieve their full potential. By working together, we can ensure the very best outcomes for all

Mr D Fernando (Head of Year)
It is with great enthusiasm that I take on the role of Head of Year 8 and guide this outstanding group of students through an exciting and pivotal year in their educational journey.
This year is a significant step forward, building on the foundations laid in Year 7. I have every confidence that each student in this year group possesses the potential to achieve greatness. Our focus will be on nurturing their academic growth, personal development, and community spirit.
At Robert Clack, we believe in the holistic development of our students. Therefore, we will be emphasizing the importance of not only academic excellence but also the values of respect, responsibility, and resilience. It is vital that students approach their studies with a positive attitude, come prepared with the necessary materials, and engage actively in all aspects of school life.
We encourage our students to be BRAVE:
- Behave – in accordance with our school’s principles and standards.
- Responsible – ensure they have the necessary equipment, complete their homework, and take responsibility for their actions.
- Attitude – adopt a positive approach to learning and cultivate resilience.
- Virtuous – act with honesty, uphold strong morals, and work collaboratively within our community.
- Effort – give their best effort in all they undertake.
Throughout the year, we will celebrate the achievements of our students, whether they are academic, sporting, artistic, or contributions to the school community. Recognition of their hard work and dedication will be a key part of our assemblies and communications home.
I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all parents and guardians for your continued support. Your involvement is crucial to the success of our students, and I look forward to working together to ensure that every student in Year 8 reaches their full potential.
Lymington Fields
Ms N Deboo (Head of Year)
It is an honour and a privilege to be leading such a fantastic group of students through their second year at Robert Clack School. This year group have already demonstrated the high standards which reflect our school ethos and values and I know they will set a brilliant example to the Year 7 students arriving on the Lymington Fields site.
As Head of Year, I have a strong belief that every student within this year group has the ability to succeed and reach their full potential. It is, however, imperative that students behave appropriately at all times in order to achieve this. All students are aware of our expectations which require them to be BRAVE every day – after all our school motto ‘Forti difficile nihil’ translates as ‘ For the brave nothing is difficult’
Students are expected to:
Behave – in line with the school’s ethos and values
Responsible – to have the correct equipment , complete their homework and take responsibility for their actions
Attitude - to adopt a positive mind-set to their learning and develop resilience
Virtuous – to be truthful, have good morals and work as part of a community
Effort – to try their very best in everything they do
As a community we understand the importance of recognising all achievements whether that be subject specific, merits earned, appraisals, attendance or extracurricular commitments and we enjoy celebrating these in our assemblies. Every pupil in Year 8 has the potential to succeed and will always be encouraged to be the very best that they can be.
I am looking forward to supporting this year group as they build upon their current success, setting a strong foundation for the path ahead. I would like to take this opportunity to thank parents and guardians for their ongoing support and together we can ensure that pupils reach their full potential.
