Pupils at Robert Clack have achieved the school’s best-ever GCSE results, with an increase in every key performance indicator, despite a fall in national outcomes for the fourth successive year.
Denis who achieved an Average Point Score (APS) of 8.11 commented: “The people who worked harder got awarded the most. Thank you to all my teachers for the help!”
Outcomes at Robert Clack are well above the national average. 76.4% of all entries were grade 4 or above (compared to the national average of 67.4% and the London average of 71.6%) and 25.8% were grade 7 or above (compared to the national average of 23%). Our results are even more pleasing given that Robert Clack is the largest comprehensive school in the country and had 480 pupils sit GCSE examinations in Year 11.
Yuhans achieved an APS score of 8.56 with 7 grade 9s and 2 grade 8s . He said: “I am extremely proud of the grades I have achieved. These results reflect the hard work and dedication I have put into my studies. I plan to continue my journey at Robert Clack, where I will keep striving for success. My long term ambition is to become an entrepreneur and my determined to work hard to make this goal a reality.”
Overall, 21 pupils were awarded grades 7 to 9 in every subject which they studied, and we are very pleased that two of our students achieved an outstanding 8 grade 9s!
Summaya who achieved 8 grade 9s and 1 grade 8 commented: “I feel ecstatic. I cannot believe these are the grades I achieved. I am so happy. It shows that hard work does pay off. Thank you to all my teachers at Robert Clack who have made this possible”.
In addition, over a third of pupils secured grades 5 to 9 in all of their subjects, three-quarters achieved a grade 4 or above in both English and Maths and over half of the cohort achieved a grade 5 or above in these subjects.
Moyosoreoluwa achieved an APS score of 8.97 which led to 7 grade 9s and she is aspiring to become a doctor.
Russell Taylor, Executive Headteacher, said: “As national results continue their downward adjustment to pre-Covid levels, I am thrilled that, at Robert Clack, we have sustained year-on-year improvement, and with our largest-ever cohort of 480 pupils. I would like to wish our pupils the very best of luck for the next stage of their education in our outstanding sixth form. I also want to express my gratitude to our staff, governors and parents for their unwavering dedication to our children.”
