“I’m so proud of myself and what I have managed to achieve this year and I am thankful to all of my teachers for their help in all of this.” (Aimuavbosa)
As was widely forecast, this year’s national GCSE results have fallen below those achieved during the pandemic era of 2020-2022, and are broadly in line with the results achieved in 2019.
However, at Robert Clack School the collective efforts of our pupils and staff have been deservedly rewarded with GCSE outcomes that are better than those achieved in 2022 and significantly higher than those of 2019.
Aditya who achieved grade 9 in every single subject commented: “I had high expectations and I did better than I ever imagined. I worked on my weaknesses and this paid off. I would like to thank all my teachers that helped me achieve these grades through numerous after school sessions and interventions.”
25 pupils were awarded grades 7 to 9 in all of their subjects and one student achieved a clean sweep of 9 grade 9s, one of just 1160 pupils in the entire country to accomplish this magnificent result. In addition, 35% of pupils secured grades 5 to 9 in every subject studied.

“Always make sure you put all your dedication into your GCSEs. It will pay off. I achieved 6 grade 9s and I am over the moon” (Rohaan)
Outcomes at Robert Clack are significantly higher than the national average. Over 75% of all entries were grade 4 or above (compared to the national average of 68%) and 30% were grade 7 or above (compared to the national average of 22%).
“I definitely did not expect my results. I went through a lot of hardships before exams started but they all paid off in the end. I am thankful for all the support my teachers have given me.” (Subah)
Executive Headteacher, Russell Taylor, commented: “I am so proud of our pupils and staff. Not only did this year group suffer significant disruption to their Key Stage 3 education as a result of the pandemic, they are also the first cohort of students to be assessed against the more demanding pre-pandemic grade boundaries. Given this context, their achievements are all the more remarkable.”
