Our whole-school curriculum has been designed to reflect our school’s commitment to delivering a holistic education, which ensures that our pupils develop the knowledge, skills and attributes necessary to fulfil their potential and make a valuable contribution to society.

Our curriculum intent is achieved through our broad, balanced and appropriate taught curriculum, our Achieve Excellence Programme, our extensive extra-curricular provision and our core values, which permeate every aspect of life at Robert Clack School.

Our taught curriculum is organised into three distinct phases across the three key stages:

Discovering – at EYFS, children are supported to achieve the early learning goals through play-based learning with a sharp focus on building their literacy and numeracy skills. This allows our children to build strong academic foundations and discover the joy of learning.

Exploring – at KS1 & 2 children are taught and explore a broad, balanced and aspirational curriculum, which covers all subject areas. This allows them to build a strong foundation of knowledge and skills to support them into KS3 and beyond.

Experiencing - at KS3 our students have access to 13 discrete subjects and they follow the full national curriculum. This allows them to experience a wide range of subjects for the three years of KS3.

Specialising - at KS4 our students study English, Maths, Science, Religious Education and PE. They make three option choices from a selection of over 20 subjects. We enable students to make unique combinations of subjects but also offer more specialised courses to help students to fulfil their potential.

Mastering - at KS5 our students select three subjects and have a very extensive choice of almost 30 courses to choose from. Students can study A-Levels, vocational qualifications or a combination of the two. Students are also able to complete the EPQ qualification in an area of their own interest. You can find out more about the subjects on offer here.

Please visit our subject pages for more information about the individual subjects at each key stage.
