This winter term our Year 12 debate enrichment pupils had the opportunity to attend the annual Global Classrooms conference for Model UN.
This took place over two days in Mulberry School who are known for holding the largest Model UN programme for state secondary schools and international schools in the UK.
At these professional conferences, students play the role of ambassadors in simulations of UN committees. The event had a warm, supportive atmosphere and promoted co-operation, leadership, public speaking skills and confidence in global citizenship.
Global Classrooms Model UN conferences consist of several student-led committees debating different topics, with between twenty-five and thirty countries in each. This winter our school represented Chad and China. Amarachi was also awarded for most distinguished delegate in UNWomen 4 where she discussed access to safe water for women and children.
Thank you very much for Mulberry School for hosting us and we look forward to the summer one! Well done to all Year
Miss Aktar & Mr Saito
